Membership In The Nashua Chapter

Congratulations, the first step to becoming a new member is RIGHT HERE. you have shown an interest by checking out our website and this membership information page. The Granite Statesmen Barbershop Chorus is always looking for any men who love to sing and would like to participate in this wonderful hobby.[break][break]Perhaps a clarification about the relationship between the Nashua Chapter and the Granite Statesmen would be useful. The Nashua Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society is the home of the Granite Statesmen Barbershop Chorus. The Nashua Chapter provides organizational and financial support to the chorus. When you join the Granite Statesmen, you are actually joining the Barbershop Harmony Society, the Nashua Chapter and the Granite Statesmen.[break][break]

The process for becoming a member is simple. Almost every rehearsal is a “guest night”, so please join us at a rehearsal at the Nashua Senior Center, 70 Temple Street in Nashua on Wednesday evenings at 7:30PM. Click here¬†for complete directions (including a map) to the Senior Center.[break][break]

At a rehearsal, you will be greeted by chorus members, handed a guest book of music, and given the opportunity to stand on the risers to experience the wonderful feeling of singing in a great ensemble. You will receive a gift of a tape and music that will introduce you to some standard barbershop music. And we encourage you to return to try out your voice with others.[break][break]

At a return visit, a membership team representative will speak to you about the Granite Statesmen and the Barbershop Harmony Society and share with you an orientation manual. When you return for the third visit and express an interest in joining, you will be given an application for membership. Someone from the music team will assess your voice range for appropriate part placement. Your application and dues will be presented to the Nashua Board of Directors at the next monthly meeting. Once accepted, a life of harmony and fraternity await you as a member.[break][break]

If you are considering a visit with us or would like more information, please contact Membership VP Jonathan Boutin at membership@granitestatesmen.org.[break][break]

It is rare that a rehearsal is cancelled or relocated, but please email ahead to be certain that you will not be disappointed.[break][break]

Thank you for your interest. We truly look forward to meeting you!
